Cop FIRED Over a Year After Dash Cam Video: “We Only Shoot Black People” was Released

Updated:  Police chief Mike Register announced today that Greg Abbott was fired.  Only over a year after the event occurred.  Who knows what he has been up to?  They claim he has had no racial complaints before, but I truly find that hard to believe.  Do you?

'There's really no place for these types of comments in law enforcement.  In no context can I tolerate this type of language. "

'I have known Lt. (Greg) Abbott for years and perceived him as honorable, but he's made a mistake. I don't know what is in his heart, but I know what came out of his mouth.

Making America the 50's again.  Just like back then, these things were overlooked, deemed acceptable and and force fed.  This does not make me feel safe at all.  Trump telling cops it's okay to rough up civilians and cause physical harm during traffic stops doesn't help things at all.

To get you caught up, we post a video of Cobb County officer Lt. Greg Abbott's dash cam footage from 'JULY 2016' DUI traffic stop.  It shows a white female passenger telling Cobb County police Lt. Greg Abbott that she was scared to move her hands in order to get her cellphone because she didn't want to get shot.

Cop Moved to Admin. Duty After Dash Cam Vid. "We Only Shoot Black People" was Released

Officer Abbott comforts her by saying,"'But you're not black. Remember, we only shoot black people.  All the videos you've seen, have you seen the black people get killed?"  Well today that same officer is on desk duty over a year after this encounter and a day after it was made public.

Abbott's attorney, Lance LoRusso, said in a statement

Abbott is cooperating with the investigation, and  his comments were meant to 'de-escalate a situation involving an uncooperative passenger.  Lt. Greg Abbott is a highly respected 28-year veteran of the Cobb County Police Department.  He is cooperating with the department's internal investigation and will continue to do so. His comments must be observed in their totality to understand their context. He was attempting to de-escalate a situation involving an uncooperative passenger.

Wait, there's more......Cobb County police chief Mike Register said:

Abbott is on administrative duty pending an investigation, and that no matter what context it was said, it shouldn't have been said.   t Abbott has been a good officer and he had not received any racial bias complaints. 'We're not making excuses. We're meeting this head-on and we're going to deal with it. We are going to keep going forward to make sure we, as a police department, service the community in a most professional way -- all segments of the community.

Dear black people and people that hang with black people:

How about you., how safe do you feel when you are approached by a cop?  Be heard......
